Worship
Worship is at the center of our lives as we gather as followers of Jesus Christ. It is a joyous time when we can share our lives together, welcome new lives into our midst while we praise God, give thanks for the world, and are strengthened and guided in mission. The roots of our worship service are many and varied.
Worship here is for everyone regardless of religious or ethnic background, race, gender identity, economic status, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability. The morning messages speak to the scripture in relevancy to today’s concerns and needs. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, at the Maundy Thursday Service and other services as appropriate. We do our best to use inclusive language in all of our worship experiences.
The worship experience is enhanced each week by the music ministry of our creative and inspiring choir director and our talented organist/pianist. We are blessed to have a very talented choir who brings a message in music each week through most of the church year as well as providing worship through music at Christmas, Easter, and Maundy Thursday. During the summer months, local musicians from the church and the community offer their gifts of music for our early morning worship services.
Sunday services are video taped and can be viewed on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. on local cable channel 12.
As we are all ministers together..everyone participates in baptisms as well as confirmation by the laying on of hands as they take seriously their call to be one in Christ.
All members participate in baptism by the laying on of hands as they pledge spiritual support of the child.
